Psychodrama is a method borrowed from the psychology field and used with great success in qualitative research as well.
It uses dramatizations of personal experiences through role-playing and enactment under a variety of simulated conditions, which actually brings to light the internal processes of the person in the play, allowing the understanding of the hidden needs that are hard to verbalize and revealed in a focus group (even a creative one).
This methodology has very good results when describing the real decisional framework of a situation and the automatic, non-verbal decision making process, because it provides a detailed analysis of the processes, highlights existing bottlenecks in the process formulated as uncovered needs..
Main benefits:
It allows authenticity – it expresses personal thoughts and feelings, not projections about others!
It allows understanding of „gray” / „dark” areas of decisions, experiences, relationships.
